NFB Spirit Night April 28th 2011
Join us for Spirit Night at the Chick fil A in Brentwood. The Middle Tennessee Chapter of the NFB would appreciate your support in our fundraising efforts. All you need to do is eat dinner. State Convention March 11-13
Our annual state convention will be held in Chattanooga, TN on March 11, 12 and 13. Be sure to make your room reservations. This year we will hold focused seminars for Students, Seniors and Diabetics. Additionally, there will be a Monte Carlo night and a Wii Bowling tournament. Join us for some serious fun!

Oktoberfest!
The NFB recognizes the need to educate the public of the contributions blind individuals make to the community. October is Meet the Blind Month. This year we will be in the public eye at the Nashville Oktoberfest on October 9. The location is in historic Germantown. We will be there to disspell the myths and break down the stereotypes associated with blindness and low vision. Blind persons from many walks of life will be there to answer any questions and provide information and literature for parents of blind children, diabetics, students, educators, and more. We look forward to meeting you there!
Live Music at Douglas Corner
Come join us for an evening of good times and great music. The Middle Tennessee Chapter invites you to listen to the stylings of two superlative bands. Cold Stone Soup and Mohawk Slim are performing October 16, 2010. Door proceeds will benefit the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the NFB outreach programs. Fun begins at 9 pm at Douglas Corner 2106 8th Avenue South in Nashville.
Annual National Convention
2010 National Federation of the Blind National Convention will be held in Dallas, Texas. Date: July 3-8, 2010. This year we are celebrating 70 years of the NFB. Several members of our chapter attended and have shared their experiences.
Junior Science Academy
The NFB will again offer a Junior Science Academy targeting children in grades three through six. The Junior Science Academy offers young scientific explorers an opportunity to experience the excitement of science in a four-day session with hands-on experiences, tactile materials, and innovative non-visual teaching methods. In addition, the Academy will have corresponding parent workshops to provide parents/guardians with the tools and knowledge that they need to help their child succeed. Two summer sessions will be offered: July 28 to August 1, 2010, and August 4 to August 8, 2010. For more information, please visit the Junior Science Academy home page.
